To the girl who senses God calling her to let go, but fear keeps holding her back — I see you. I know what it’s like to shape your whole world around others, to feel small under their expectations, to feel unworthy, to stay because leaving feels impossible.
For years, I lived that way. My life revolved around keeping peace, earning approval, and holding onto something I thought was secure. But deep down, I knew I wasn’t living the life God was calling me to.
It took everything in me to ask God for the strength to be obedient. I didn’t walk away all at once — it started with surrender. Little by little, He led me out of the places that kept me from growing closer to Him. Leaving that job, that church, those friends, even that family I was deeply tied to — it all felt impossible at first. But I started to realize that when you truly listen to God, He moves things in ways you never could on your own.
During that season, I clung to the story of Job. He lost everything yet never lost his faith. Job reminded me that even when life feels stripped away, God is still there — listening, refining, restoring. That’s what surrender looks like: trusting that even when you can’t see the ending, He’s already writing something better.
And every single day, Matthew 6:33 anchored me: “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” When I started seeking Him first — not people’s approval, not comfort, not control — everything began to fall into place.
Obedience isn’t easy. It costs something. But disobedience costs peace, purpose, and the freedom God wants for you.
So to the girl who’s afraid to walk away — take the step. You’re not losing, you’re making room for what God has been waiting to give you.
